Waltham Forest

London's North East shoulder, hemmed by marshes, urban wetlands and beautiful Epping Forest.

One of the earliest councils to declare a climate emergency, the London borough of Waltham Forest has a long, proud history of creativity, making, diversity and solidarity. It is alive with an active citizenry, with many hands already hard at work building the cleaner, greener, more humane and connected future.

The map is an on-going collection of the local groups, grassroots campaigns, businesses, volunteers, charities, projects and change makers across the borough (or very nearby!).

Below are some of the amazing groups and organisations that don't have a physical space but organise online and in locality, with many ways to participate.

Get involved, join a group or start a new one. Help us fill in the map with your local knowledge. Maybe you'd like to find people to start up Transition Chingford, or a local Fridays For Future?
"If we wait for governments, it will be too late. If we act as individuals, it will be too little, but if we act as communities, it might just be enough, just in time."
